Polymer Physics by Quantum Computing

چکیده
Sampling equilibrium ensembles of dense polymer mixtures is a paradigmatically hard problem in computational physics, even lattice-based models. Here, we develop formalism based on interacting binary tensors that allows for tackling this using quantum annealing machines. Our approach general properties such as self-avoidance, branching, and looping can all be specified terms quadratic interactions the tensors. Microstates realizations different lattice are then seamlessly generated by solving suitable discrete energy-minimization problems. This enables us to capitalize strengths machines, demonstrate sampling from low high densities, D-Wave computer. systematic offers promising avenue harness rapid development computers models filamentous soft-matter systems.

Quantum computing classical physics.
In the past decade, quantum algorithms have been found which outperform the best classical solutions known for certain classical problems as well as the best classical methods known for simulation of certain quantum systems. This suggests that they may also speed up the simulation of some classical systems. I describe one class of discrete quantum algorithms which do so--quantum lattice-gas aut...
متن کاملAnalog quantum computing (AQC) by revisiting the underlying physics
It has been proven that universal quantum computers based on qubits and classical analog networks both have superTuring capabilities. It is a grand challenge to computer science to prove that the combination of the two, in analog (continuous variable) quantum computing, offers supersuperTuring capability, the best we can achieve. Computing with continuous spins is now the most promising path AQ...
متن کاملUsing Quantum Computing to Learn Physics
Since its inception at the beginning of the twentieth century, quantum mechanics has challenged our conceptions of how the universe ought to work; however, the equations of quantum mechanics can be too computationally difficult to solve using existing computers for even modestly large systems. Here I will show that quantum computers can sometimes be used to address such problems and that quantu...

the aim of the present paper is to sbo» that anti-realism in science, 1vhich has a1;guab/y become more fashionable in recentyears, contrary to tuha: its proponents assert, cannot make use of quantum mechanics and its impressiue achievements as a frump card in justifying its claims. i will argue that scientific anti-realism far from providing scientific communiry with a progressive methodologica...
